Daxing International Airport, Beijing, is set to become the largest and most busiest Airport in the world!
The massive project is due to complete sometime in October 2019, located on the border of Langfang and Beijing, in the Hebei province.
The new addition will be Beijing’s second airport to be built and is still currently under construction.
The Airport, once completed, expects to service over 100Million passengers per year and are hoping to build a second terminal south of the first one to accommodate this.
There will be an initial 4 runways, then ongoing expansions will create an additional 3 more with 80 ‘Aeroplane’ parking bays.
The design came from consulting firm, Netherlands Airport Consultants. Who also added transportation links to the super fast high-speed rail, metro and expressways.
The terminal building was designed by British architects Zaha Hadid Architects and French designers ADPI, featuring a six spoked design eminating around the main central hub.
The first phase of Beijing’s Daxing International Airport will be able to handle a whopping 72Million people!
